Route Signal
Open network brief
Privacy

Limited data, plainly explained.

Route Signal is a public information service. It does not require an account and does not ask visitors for a name, email address or personal profile.

Browser data

The current app saves your light or dark appearance choice in this browser. It does not track which stories you have read or use your appearance choice to identify you. Clearing Route Signal site data removes saved preferences, including any left by older versions of the app.

Website analytics

Route Signal uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand overall website usage. Vercel describes this service as cookie-free and based on anonymized data. We do not include story text or your saved appearance choice in analytics events. We remove URL query parameters and fragments before sending page addresses.

Performance measurements

Vercel Speed Insights measures how quickly pages load, how responsive they feel and whether content shifts while loading. Measurements include the page address, browser and device type, and country. Vercel states that these measurements are not associated with an individual visitor or IP address and cannot reconstruct a browsing session.

Hosting and public content

Vercel hosts the website and processes the request information needed to deliver and protect it, under its own privacy terms. The stories and publisher links shown on Route Signal come from public sources.

Your controls

Browser privacy or content-blocking settings may prevent analytics and performance requests without stopping access to the brief. Browser site-data controls can remove the saved appearance choice at any time.
